Poetry Corner - Army Khaki

D220 Army Khaki

This was not the colour that she wanted to purchase
It really should have been Dark Navy, Solent Blue
As she knew from her Uncle and Grandfather
Sea is safer, so much of it hides you.

In wartime, the infantry is not the place to be
Her son and guns were never meant to mix
She would much rather sew a bell-bottomed
Leg, than be given a tunic to fix.

Poetry Corner - Wine

D129 Wine
 Friday night is reward night
She has reached the tunnel light
Two things aid relaxation
From the weekly vexations
Merlot and a crossing stitch
Obliviate the work bitch
The one trouble with Merlot
It affects how straight you sew.
